Walnut Creek Water Treatment Plant
The complete upgrade and capacity expansion of the Walnut Creek Water Treatment Plant includes the renovation of 5,300 SF Operations Building and adjacent Filter Galleries, a new 21,800 SF Chemical Building and several process support structures.
Architectural services provided on the project included programming, design, the preparation of renderings and materials boards, construction documentation, and design services during construction of the $87 million facility.
Located in a high valley adjacent to a residential neighborhood, materials were selected to blend with the landscape and to be low maintenance. Building forms were designed to allow the structures to perform their functions and be identifiable as both individual buildings and part of the family of facility structures.
