Petaluma Water Resources & Conservation Offices

This two-story structure houses the City of Petaluma Water Resources and Conservation Department. The building is sited to minimize its impact on an adjacent residential area, while still facilitating required circulation. Functional areas include a public reception area, staff lunchroom and locker rooms, a maintenance shop and parts storage, offices, a control room, and a conference room that can double as an emergency services command center during major storm events.

Constructed of appropriately durable materials in a simple but elegant configuration, the building was also designed to meet high-performance sustainability standards. The exterior skin of concrete masonry and corrugated metal cladding is composed to maximize daylighting and minimize heat gain. Interior materials were selected for high recycled content and indoor air quality performance.
